The new 13-inch MacBook Pro was announced on Tuesday with Apple’s custom M1 system-on-a-chip. It gives the MacBook Pro 20 hours of video playback, 2.8x faster performance, and more. Available to order today and starts shipping on November 17.

M1 13-inch MacBook Pro

Featuring the brand new 8-core M1 CPU, the new MacBook Pro is 2.8x faster than the previous generation. The 8-core GPU is up to 5x faster, machine learning is up to 11x faster, and will give customers 17 hours of web browsing and 20 hours of video playback. Apple says this is the longest battery life of any mac.

The M1 has a new image signal processor for sharper webcam images and more detail in highlights and shadows on video calls, but the webcam itself is still 720p.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro starts at US$1,299 or US$108.25/month for 12 months with Apple Card monthly installments. The 16-inch MacBook Pro starts at US$1,499/month or US$124.91 for 12 months with Apple Card monthly installments.
