macOS 26.3 public beta 1 is now available for all users

Apple Releases macOS Tahoe 26.3 beta 1 for Mac Users

Apple has opened up macOS Tahoe 26.3 public beta 1 to anyone enrolled in the Beta Software Program. It arrives a couple of days after Apple shipped the first developer beta on Monday, December 15, 2025, and it gives regular users a way to test what comes next without a developer account.

This first public beta looks like an early, steadying update rather than a feature-packed release. Early reports say there are very few user-facing changes right now, which usually points to Apple focusing on stability, fixes, and polish at this stage of the cycle.

If you want to check that you have the right build, macOS 26.3 beta 1 uses build number 25D5087f.

Changes in macOS 26.3 beta 1

A quieter beta, at least so far

Early testers are not seeing many obvious additions in the first build. That usually means Apple is tightening things up behind the scenes before bigger changes land in later betas.

What to expect in day-to-day use

Since this is an early beta, treat it like a test build.

  • Stability-focused update
  • Bug fixes and performance tuning
  • More visible changes may arrive in later betas
