Two people in one household both want an iPhone 18 Pro when pre-orders open at 5 a.m. PT today, and the obvious question is whether Apple will let one of them order both. The only per-customer limit Apple publishes anywhere for these models is on its Singapore store page, which caps buyers at two iPhone 18 Pro and two iPhone 18 Pro Max.
Everywhere else Apple publishes no number. What it publishes instead is a right, in its retail sales policies, to limit quantities whenever it chooses. The practical preparation, then, is not about the cap. It is about the things that genuinely change when an order covers two phones instead of one: financing, trade-in and coverage.

Singapore is the one market with a number
Apple’s Singapore buy page sets the pre-order at 8pm SGT on 12 September, gives availability as 18 September, and states a limit of two iPhone 18 Pro and two iPhone 18 Pro Max per customer. That is the only published cap on these models we could find on any Apple storefront.

It is worth reading precisely. It is a limit per model rather than a limit of two phones, and Apple has published nothing about how the cap is counted across separate orders, across the Apple Store app and the website, or between family members at one address.
What Apple’s sales policies say about quantity
Outside Singapore the closest thing to a published mechanic is Apple’s retail sales policy page, and its language is deliberately broad. Apple states that it may refuse or cancel any order or limit order quantity, that it may have to limit the number available for purchase and can change that number at any time even after an order is placed, and that the Apple Store reserves the right to accept or decline an order at any time for any reason.
Two more lines from the same page are useful for a two-phone order. If Apple cancels an order after payment, Apple refunds it. And if Apple reduces the price of an Apple-branded product within 14 calendar days of the customer receiving it, the policy describes a route to request a refund or credit of the difference.
Financing and trade-in are the parts that really change
The payment route is where a second phone actually complicates things. Apple Card Monthly Installments are subject to credit approval and a credit limit, and Apple’s own footnote requires selecting AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon at checkout, which is also how the $1,199 and $1,299 starting prices are reached in the US. The Apple Upgrade lease, run with Klarna, requires an eligible carrier too, and Apple warns of a substantial charge for ending a lease early.

Trade-in is the simplest rule to plan around: one device buys down one phone, and Apple’s credit is instant while a carrier’s larger headline figure arrives as monthly bill credits. Coverage is the other multiplier. AppleCare One is $19.99 a month for up to three devices and $5.99 a month for each device beyond that, while AppleCare One Family is $49.99 a month for up to six people through Family Sharing and becomes available on September 14. Apple has still not published a per-device AppleCare+ price for iPhone 18 Pro.
One more regional rule to know
India has a published order rule of its own, although it applies to the offer rather than the phone. Apple India states that its instant cashback promotion has a minimum transaction of 10,001 rupees and a limit of two orders per rolling 90-day period, with No Cost EMI on three or six month tenures. Apple India also says the offers are not available to business customers and may be revised or withdrawn at any time.
If the second device in the household is not a phone, the ordering question is easier. Apple Watch Series 12 and AirPods 5 have been orderable since September 9 with no timed window, and both reach stores on the same Friday as the iPhone.
What has not been confirmed
Apple has published no per-customer limit for iPhone 18 Pro outside Singapore, no explanation of how that Singapore cap is counted, no statement of when a card is authorised rather than charged, and no guidance at all on ordering multiple units. It documents no pre-order queue and no feature it calls Express checkout, and the widely repeated prepare-your-bag routine sits on Apple’s user forums, which are user-generated rather than Apple documentation.
