Shazam has shared its Fast Forward 2026 lineup, a yearly list that highlights artists gaining early traction through song recognition data. Since 2021, the platform has used listening patterns to spot musicians before they break into the mainstream.
Fast Forward focuses on artists who show strong growth on Shazam before wider popularity hits. Shazam describes the list by saying, “Fast Forward takes a look ahead at some of the most exciting talent being discovered on Shazam.” The goal stays simple. Track what people search for today to predict who leads tomorrow.
Artists Featured This Year
The 2026 Fast Forward playlist includes 65 artists across 20 genres. The range runs from Afro-Beat and Country to Electronic, K-Pop, Rock, and Urban Latino. Among the names highlighted this year are Lelo, Bella Kay, and Florence Road.
Shazam points out that earlier Fast Forward lists proved accurate. Artists such as aespa in 2021, Ayra Starr and Teddy Swims in 2022, and Benson Boone and Young Miko in 2023 all appeared before their major rise.
Shazam explains the strength of its signals clearly. “Every day, Shazam gets millions of requests from users around the world who are curious about the artist behind a song.” These searches come from social media clips, ads, and everyday moments, which makes the data useful for spotting trends early.
For 2026, Shazam says the playlist features artists “based on Shazam data and reviewed by our editors” who appear ready for a breakout year.
