tvOS 26.3 beta 1 is now available after the tvOS 26.2 release

Apple TV 4K

Apple released tvOS 26.2 on Friday, December 12, and now the first developer beta of tvOS 26.3 is available for testing. The new beta arrives as tvOS 26.3 beta 1 (build 23K5585c), giving developers an early look at what Apple plans for the next point update.

Right now, this is a developer beta, so expect rough edges. If you install it, treat it like test software, not something you rely on every day.

How to update to tvOS 26.3 beta 1

  1. On your Apple TV, open Settings.
  2. Go to System.
  3. Select Software Updates.
  4. Open Get Beta Updates.
  5. Choose the tvOS 26 Developer Beta option.
  6. Go back and select Update Software, then install the update.

Your Apple TV will download the update and restart during installation, so plan for a few minutes of downtime.

Changes in tvOS 26.3 beta 1

Apple has not shared a detailed public change log for this beta yet, and early developer builds often focus on bug fixes and performance work rather than big new features. In other words, you may not notice anything dramatic on day one.

That said, this is the first beta, so it is the one that tends to surface the most visible changes over time as testers dig in. If Apple adds new features or tweaks to system apps, they usually show up across later beta builds as well.

If you spot any UI changes, new options, or app behavior differences after installing tvOS 26.3 beta 1, share what you are seeing. Let us know in the comments.
