That silence sits next to a release candidate build that exists and is dated identically to every other operating system Apple is shipping this month, which makes the missing page a choice rather than a sign that tvOS 27 is unfinished.

A release candidate with no home page
developer.apple.com lists a release candidate build for every operating system in the 27 family, all dated September 9, 2026. Five of the six have a marketing page naming a September 14 release date. tvOS is the exception.

What Apple has published without naming a release
Apple’s services Newsroom release, separate from any tvOS product page, describes an Apple Podcasts redesign coming to tvOS with video playback, sidebar navigation and creator episode artwork; Apple Music AutoMix arriving on tvOS and HomePod; and Hi-Res Lossless audio on tvOS through compatible external outputs on Apple TV 4K. None of those three items carries a date, and none appears on a tvOS 27 product page, because there is not one.
The gap is not for lack of a finished build. Apple’s developer news also confirms that App Store submissions are open for tvOS 27 alongside the other five operating systems, built with the Xcode 27 release candidate, and that tvOS apps must move to the tvOS 27 SDK by April 2027 to stay current, the same deadline set for iOS, iPadOS, visionOS and watchOS. The submission pipeline treats tvOS 27 as a real, shipping release. The public-facing marketing side of Apple’s site does not.
The Siri AI beta list, and tvOS’s absence from it
Apple’s own wording is specific: “Siri AI is available in beta in iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27.” tvOS is not named. The current Apple TV 4K hardware page mentions only “the all-new vibrant look and feel of Liquid Glass on tvOS,” a description carried over from tvOS 26, with no tvOS 27-specific design or Siri AI claim on the page.
Apple also announced no new Apple TV 4K hardware at the event that introduced iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone Duo, AirPods 5 and Apple Watch Series 12. tvOS 27 is arriving, whenever it arrives, on the same Apple TV 4K models Apple already sells.
What Apple has not said
