Upcoming Apple visionOS 27 Update Focuses On Bug Fixes And AI Tools

VisionOS 27

The next major software update for the mixed reality headset from Apple will likely bring fewer major changes than the previous version. According to Mark Gurman, the upcoming visionOS 27 update will focus mostly on performance improvements and bug fixes. The company plans to match the features coming to its other operating systems later this year.

This means users will see new artificial intelligence tools and a much better Siri voice assistant when the software drops.

The software mirrors new artificial intelligence features from other devices

The Vision Pro headset relies heavily on voice controls because users cannot type on a physical mouse and keyboard. Upgrading Siri will make a huge difference in how people use the device every single day. The company is working hard to bring its newest artificial intelligence features to the headset so it stays on par with the newest phones and tablets.

In a recent newsletter, Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman shared what to expect from the upcoming release.

“This year’s visionOS 27 update will be light on new features compared with visionOS 26 and instead focus on performance, bug fixes and parity with the other “27” operating systems. That means adding the new AI editing tools, Siri features and other enhancements that will be part of iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and macOS 27.”

By focusing on polish rather than entirely new tools, the company hopes to make the daily headset experience much smoother. Apple will officially announce visionOS 27 during its developer conference on June 8.

At the moment, the hardware team is making sure the headset gets all the same smart editing tools and system upgrades that mobile users will receive this fall.
