Vivaldi Browser Brings Two-Level Tab Stacks To iPhone And iPad

Vivaldi 7.9 Browser iOS iPhone iPad stack tabs

If you constantly find yourself drowning in dozens of open browser tabs on your phone, a new update from Vivaldi might be exactly what you need. The popular browser just released version 7.9 for iPhone and iPad users. This fresh update finally introduces two-level tab stacks to Apple devices. It is a highly requested feature that makes organizing a messy browser window much easier.

Here’s how the Vivaldi browser’s double-decker tab stacks work

Vivaldi first launched this feature for Android users a few years ago. Now, it is bringing the same functionality to iOS. When you group multiple websites into a stack, the browser displays them using a double-decker layout.

The top row shows your main tab groups. When you tap on a specific stack, a second row drops down right below it to reveal all the individual pages stored inside. This keeps your screen clean while giving you quick access to everything.

You can choose between a classic two-level view or an accordion style by digging into the tab settings menu. Creating a new stack is as simple as long-pressing the new tab button.

The new version adds a few extra tools as well

Beyond the new tab layout, the company added a few extra tools to make switching browsers a lot smoother. Version 7.9 includes a dedicated Safari import option. With just a single tap, you can grab your existing bookmarks, saved passwords, payment details, and browsing history.

Vivaldi also introduced a daily image feature that drops a fresh photograph onto your start page every single day. If you really like the curated photos, you can even set the browser to automatically sync the image as your actual iPhone wallpaper.

The update is completely free and available to download from the App Store right now.
