All three rear cameras on the iPhone 18 Pro are 48MP, and Apple took four years to get there. The first 48MP sensor arrived on the main camera of the iPhone 14 Pro in 2022, the Ultra Wide followed in 2024, and the telephoto only caught up last year. The 48MP main camera was the…
iPhone 18 Pro Reaches 2TB and iPhone Air Stops at 1TB: Where Each Storage Ladder Ends
Apple’s new iPhones do not offer the same capacities as each other. iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone Duo climb to 2TB, iPhone Air stops at 1TB, iPhone 17 stops at 512GB, and iPhone 16 is the only model in the lineup that still starts at 128GB. iPhone Duo, one of three…
iPhone 18 Pro Carbon Figures: One Storage Step Costs More Than Moving Up to the Pro Max
Apple gives every iPhone 18 Pro configuration its own carbon figure, and read side by side they say something the price list does not: choosing more storage adds more emissions than choosing the bigger phone. A storage step adds 9 kg of CO2e on the 6.3-inch Pro, while moving to the 6.9-inch Pro Max at…
iPhone 18 Pro Thickness: 8.75 mm Against iPhone 17, iPhone Air and a Folded iPhone Duo
Both iPhone 18 Pro sizes are 8.75 mm deep, the same depth Apple published for the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. That makes the new Pro thicker than the 7.95 mm iPhone 17, well thicker than the 5.64 mm iPhone Air, and thinner than the 11.3 mm an iPhone Duo measures when it…
iPhone 18 Pro Battery vs Pro Max: 36 Hours Clears the iPhone 16 Pro Max and Falls 3 Short of the 17 Pro Max
Apple rates the 6.3-inch iPhone 18 Pro at up to 36 hours of video playback, which is three hours more than it rates the iPhone 16 Pro Max and three hours less than last year’s iPhone 17 Pro Max. The small Pro has, in other words, caught up with a big Pro, just not the…
Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 Cost of Ownership: $399 and $799 Are Starting Points, Not Totals
Apple has published three Apple Watch prices for this launch and every one of them starts with the word from: Apple Watch SE 3 from $249, Apple Watch Series 12 from $399 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 from $799. Nothing else about what a Watch costs to own over three years is on an Apple…
iPhone 18 Pro Ownership: Year One Costs $1,497.88, and Year Two Cannot Be Priced at All
Every number needed to cost the first year of an iPhone 18 Pro is on an Apple page. The 6.3-inch 256GB model is $1,199 with carrier connectivity, the TechWoven Case is $59 and AppleCare One is $19.99 a month, which totals $1,497.88 over twelve months on our arithmetic. The Clear Case is $49, one of…
iPhone 18 Pro Max Is 20 Percent More Screen for 18 Percent More Phone: The Size Math Apple Does Not Print
Choose the 6.9-inch iPhone 18 Pro Max over the 6.3-inch iPhone 18 Pro and you get about 20 percent more display, in a body with about 18 percent more footprint and 18 percent more weight. Both panels are 460 ppi, both are the same shape, and Apple publishes every number needed to work that out…
iOS 27 Password Alerts Are Not Ready on Monday: Every Privacy Feature Apple Left Undated
One of the security additions Apple lists for iOS 27 is not in Monday’s release. Apple’s own page says the Passwords app “Alerts you to weak or compromised passwords and can update them”, then labels it “Coming in a future software update”, with no date attached. iOS 27 arrives Monday, September 14, without every feature…
iPhone 18 Pro Max Size Premium: A Flat $100 in the US, 10.5 Percent of the Price in Singapore
The iPhone 18 Pro Max costs exactly $100 more than the 6.3-inch iPhone 18 Pro at all four storage tiers, and Apple’s store pages show the same flat pattern in every one of the ten countries we have prices for. What that gap is worth changes with the market: it is 7.8 percent of the…
