iPhone 18 Pro ships with no SIM tray at all in 12 countries, and Apple publishes the list. Apple also publishes the dual eSIM specification, two lines active at once and eight or more stored, and it has published nothing about moving those lines across a company fleet.
For an order that spans regions, that produces two different buying experiences from one product page, and it pushes every activation question to a carrier at a moment when the US carriers have published almost nothing about the new phones.

Apple does not publish a matching list of the markets where a tray remains, so the safe planning assumption for anywhere outside those 12 is to confirm the local configuration at the storefront rather than infer it.
What Apple publishes about dual eSIM
Apple’s tech specs for iPhone 18 Pro list dual eSIM with two lines active at once and storage for eight or more. The phone pairs the A20 Pro with Apple’s C2 modem, which Apple says uses 15 percent less energy than C1X and supports mmWave 5G in the US.
iPhone Duo goes further: Apple states it is eSIM only everywhere and not compatible with physical SIM cards. A multi-country order that includes the foldable therefore has no SIM tray anywhere, and it does not ship until October 23.
The carrier questions Apple does not answer
Two days before pre-orders, the carriers have not published their iPhone 18 Pro terms. Verizon’s product page carries only a pre-order time, 9/12 at 8 a.m. EDT, with no credit amount, plan requirement or trade-in terms. AT&T’s own deals page still leads with last generation. T-Mobile’s pages could not be verified because the site blocked automated access.
The tiered figures of $350, $930 and $1,200 that circulate for AT&T appear in Apple’s footnotes, not on the carrier’s own site, and Apple’s footnotes describe T-Mobile credits from $150 to $1,200 applied over 24 to 36 months. Apple’s $30 connectivity discount applies to iPhone 17 and iPhone 16 only, not to any new model. Apple Card Monthly Installments require one of AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon to be selected at checkout, and prepaid plans are not supported.

Devices ship with iOS 27 preinstalled, and the box contains the phone and a 1 m USB-C cable. There is no power adapter, which is a real line item across a large order. iOS 27 arrives the same week, on Monday, September 14.
What Apple has not said
Nothing in Apple’s published launch material for iPhone 18 Pro or iPhone Duo describes fleet deployment, enrolment, eSIM transfer at scale or any management behaviour, and we are not going to describe a process Apple has not documented. Apple has also not published business pricing for these devices, and no carrier has published a business term for either phone.
Pre-orders open on Saturday, September 12 at 5 a.m. PT. Any organisation planning a multi-country order should confirm the SIM configuration and activation route with each local carrier before then, because Apple’s published pages stop at the hardware.
