Apple is introducing its first smart home hub on October 13, but the highly awaited Apple HomeView will skip a video broadcast. Because the company is not holding a live stream or online event, details are coming out through press materials and hands on briefings instead. While the new device brings a screen to a smart speaker base, buyers in India are wondering if they will get to buy it anytime soon. Here is a look at the current launch plans and what the hardware actually offers.

Local language support might delay the Indian release date

The company has not confirmed a specific release window for the Indian market yet. Global shipments for the smart screen are expected to begin in the middle of November. However, its arrival in different countries depends heavily on software testing and regional voice features.

Since the device relies on voice commands to work, the smart hub needs to understand local languages very well. Analysts suggest that the first wave of shipments will target regions where the voice assistant already operates natively.

If you are a fan of Apple living in India, you might have to wait a bit longer if regional language packages are still under development. Even though you cannot watch an Apple event today livestream to get official confirmation, tech reporters expect to see the full rollout schedule published through press releases shortly.

The new command center adds a screen to smart controls

This upcoming gadget runs on the A18 chip to process tasks quickly right on the device. It acts as a central control panel for your house. The hardware features a six inch square touchscreen that sits on a metal speaker base, which looks a lot like the classic iMac G4.

Buyers will have a few options to pick from. The countertop version comes in silver, space gray, starlight, and pink. A separate wall mounted model will only be available in silver and space gray.

Early rumors sometimes called this unreleased product the HomePad, but recent reports clarify the HomeView name. One of the most useful additions is a front camera that spots who is in the room. Once it recognizes a family member, the interface automatically shifts its text size and pulls up personal calendar events or notes just for them.

While an Indian release date remains unconfirmed, this smart hub marks a big change in how people use their home gadgets. Keep checking local store listings as the initial November rollout approaches.
