In macOS 27, you can make the iPhone Mirroring window bigger by dragging its edge or corner, and some iPhone apps use the extra space to show more content. The iPhone needs iOS 27, and Apple says resizing isn’t supported on iPhone 11, 12, or 13 (any model) or iPhone SE (2nd or 3rd generation).
On those iPhones, dragging the window only scales the picture up or down.
How to resize the iPhone Mirroring window
- Open iPhone Mirroring on your Mac from the Dock, the Applications folder, or Spotlight.
- Hold the pointer near the edge of the window until it becomes a double arrow. Apple’s support article also describes dragging a corner.
- Drag until the window is the size you want.
What happens next depends on what’s on screen. In a resizable app, Apple’s iPhone User Guide says “the amount of content that appears changes as you resize.” The guide names Weather and Photos, and Apple’s support article names Mail, Messages, and Calendar as apps “designed to show more information when you drag to make the window wider.”

On the Home Screen, in the App Switcher, or in an app that isn’t resizable, “the content scales larger or smaller as you resize.” You get a bigger picture, not more of the app.
Apps also remember their size. Apple says “If you resize an app, it reopens at that size the next time you use it in iPhone Mirroring.”
How to go back to iPhone size
Apple’s two pages give three ways back: choose View > iPhone Size, click the iPhone size button in the iPhone Mirroring toolbar, or press Command-9. The iPhone User Guide adds that opening the App Switcher or going to the Home Screen also returns the window to iPhone size.
The View menu also has fixed sizes that scale the window rather than showing more of an app. The iPhone User Guide lists Actual Size, Zoom In, and Zoom Out. Apple’s support article describes the presets as Larger, Smaller, and Actual Size, with the shortcuts Command-Plus sign, Command-Minus sign, and Command-0.
The iPhones that can’t resize
Apple’s note in the iPhone User Guide reads: “Window resizing in iPhone Mirroring requires iOS 27 or later, and isn’t supported on iPhone 11, 12, or 13 (any model) or iPhone SE (2nd or 3rd generation). On unsupported models, the resize cursor scales the window instead of resizing it.”
If your iPhone isn’t on that list but still runs iOS 26, update it first in Settings > General > Software Update.
The Mac needs updating too. iPhone Mirroring itself works from macOS Sequoia 15, but Apple’s support article ties dragging to resize to “macOS 27 or later.” Our guide to preparing your Mac for macOS 27 covers the upgrade.
Another macOS 27 addition: Control Center
macOS 27 also adds a keyboard shortcut for the iPhone’s Control Center. Press Command-4, which Apple marks “(Requires macOS 27 or later.)” It joins the existing shortcuts: Command-1 for the Home Screen, Command-2 for the App Switcher, and Command-3 for Spotlight.
The usual limits still apply. The iPhone must be locked and near your Mac, both devices need the same Apple Account with two-factor authentication, and Apple says iPhone Mirroring “is currently unavailable in the European Union.” The iPhone camera and microphone aren’t available through the mirrored window.
