iOS 27 adds a dedicated Siri app that collects every Siri AI conversation in one place, and Apple says it “uses iCloud to privately sync conversational history across a user’s products.” The point of that sync is continuity: Apple’s example is starting a conversation on a Mac and continuing it on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch or Apple Vision Pro.
The app is part of the Siri AI beta, so it arrives with iOS 27 on Monday, September 14, needs an Apple Intelligence iPhone, and works in English first. It is where the typed side of Siri AI lives, because Apple says you can type or talk to the assistant rather than only speak to it.

What the iCloud sync does, in Apple’s words
Apple’s description is short and specific: the history is synced through iCloud, and it is synced “privately.” That fits the architecture Apple describes for Apple Intelligence generally, where requests run on-device or on Apple servers through Private Cloud Compute, and personal data “is not stored nor made accessible to Apple or anyone else.”

What the sync buys you day to day is not having to restate context. Siri AI is built for multi-turn conversation, so a thread that already knows what you were asking about is worth carrying between devices. Apple has not said how much history is kept, whether there is a limit, or whether the history can be deleted, renamed, pinned or searched.

The Apple Watch line is the one to watch. Apple listed the Watch among the devices a conversation can be continued on, but it also said Siri AI would only reach watchOS 27 for developer testing in a later beta, and it has not said what the Watch shows of an existing thread. Watch support also requires pairing with an Apple Intelligence iPhone, according to Apple’s footnotes, and the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 both qualify.
What you can do inside a conversation
Apple’s Siri AI capabilities are the same wherever the app runs. According to Apple’s June press release, they cover personal context across Messages, Mail and Photos, broad world knowledge with up-to-date information from the web, onscreen awareness so Siri can answer about what you are looking at, and systemwide in-app actions such as “drafting an email from scratch, or editing and sharing a set of photos.”
- Write with Siri: generate a draft or get feedback on what you have written, in a tone matched to the recipient in Mail and Messages.
- Visual Intelligence: a new Siri mode in Camera starts a visual search from the viewfinder, with a keyboard shortcut on Mac and the screenshot flow on iPad.
- Conversational responses: detailed answers and natural back-and-forth rather than one question at a time.
- Call Context: relevant details from your apps while you are on a call to a business, in English only.
One limit applies to all of it. Apple says features that lean on its server models, “including but not limited to Siri AI,” are subject to daily usage limits, that increased access comes with most iCloud+ plans, and that expanded access “will be available for a fee in the future.” Apple has not said whether opening the Siri app or scrolling old conversations counts against those limits.
What Apple has not said
- Whether conversations can be pinned, renamed, searched, exported or deleted, and what happens to the history if you turn Apple Intelligence off.
- How long history is retained, how much iCloud storage it uses, or whether it counts toward your iCloud+ allowance.
- Whether the Siri app can be removed from the Home Screen, or what it shows on an iPhone that is not Apple Intelligence capable.
- How the app behaves on Apple Watch, given that Siri AI reaches watchOS 27 in a later beta.
- Whether an EU iPhone can open conversations started on an EU Mac, where Siri AI is available.
The Siri app arrives with iOS 27 on Monday, September 14 as a free update for iPhone 11 and later, with the Siri AI beta itself limited to Apple Intelligence models such as the iPhone 18 Pro. Five more languages follow in October, and Apple has not said when the beta label comes off.
