tvOS 27 is expected to arrive on Monday, September 14, the same day as iOS 27, according to 9to5Mac. Apple has confirmed September 14 for iOS 27 and watchOS 27 as free updates; it has not published a separate date for tvOS 27.
The timing matters because Apple’s September 9 event included no Apple TV hardware. The keynote covered iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPhone Duo, AirPods 5, Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, and new Health features, so for Apple TV owners the software update is the only September news so far.
What Apple has confirmed for September 14
Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro press release sets the date for iOS 27 and watchOS 27. Both are free updates, and both land five days after the keynote.

On the iPhone side, iOS 27 brings Siri AI in beta in English, with French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish following in October, plus Image Playground with photorealistic images, Safari “Notify Me”, iPhone Handoff and Apple Reference Image. Apple has not said which of these, if any, reach Apple TV.
tvOS 27 and the other reported September 14 updates
9to5Mac reports that tvOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 and visionOS 27 are all expected on September 14. Apple has not confirmed those four dates, and it has not published a tvOS 27 feature list alongside the event announcements.

Until Apple posts the update, the tvOS 27 date is a report. The confirmed part is that the iPhone and Apple Watch updates arrive Monday.
No new Apple TV 4K to install it on, yet
Before the event, code found by leakers pointed to a next Apple TV 4K with an A19 or A19 Pro chip, as The Mac Observer reported. Apple did not announce that product on September 9, and its Newsroom has no press release for Apple TV, HomePod, HomePod mini or a home hub.
Pre-event reports from MacRumors and Bloomberg also described a home hub with a 7-inch display, camera and presence sensors, and a HomePod mini refresh with a faster chip. None of those were announced either. Our event recap has the full list of what was.
