Apple Rolls out watchOS 26.5 Beta 3 Without Major Changes

Apple has now released watchOS 26.5 beta 1 for developers

Apple just released the third developer beta for its upcoming watchOS 26.5 update. This new software gives testers a chance to find bugs on the Apple Watch before the final version ships to the public. This launch happens on a busy day for Apple, arriving exactly at the same time it is releasing the third beta of iOS 26.5 to developers.

Registered developers can install the fresh watch software via iPhone

Anyone with a registered developer account can download this new update right now. To grab the software, you just need to open the dedicated Watch app on a connected iPhone. From there, tap on General and then navigate to the Software Update section. You will see the beta option pop up on the screen, ready to install. Make sure the watch has at least half of its battery life remaining and is sitting on a charger during the whole process.

This new watch update is part of a much larger testing cycle across the whole brand. Right alongside the smartwatch software, the company is also seeding iPadOS 26.5 beta 3 with a focus on stability for its tablets. Mac users are getting some attention too, as the brand recently finished dropping the third beta of macOS Tahoe 26.5 for developers.

For now, the watchOS release does not seem to include any major visual changes or flashy new features. The main goal is clearly to clean up existing background errors and improve daily battery life. A public beta version for regular testers should arrive in the coming days.
