Users discovered that Google started showing shared conversation pages from the popular AI tool, Claude, directly in normal search results.
This meant anyone looking up the site keywords could read through sensitive discussions that users thought were completely out of the public eye.

Search engines ignored the hidden status of shared conversations
The issue came to light when members of a Reddit community noticed something strange. Someone ran a search for the specific URL path used for sharing chats and found a huge list of clickable results. The feature is designed so you can create a link to show your chat to someone else.
The creator, Anthropic, usually adds a specific web tag that tells search engines to ignore these pages. For some reason, it failed to apply this tag to certain shared links. Because the tag was missing, Google crawled the URLs and listed them for anyone to click.
The exposed links revealed highly sensitive and confidential user data
The conversations that leaked online were not just simple questions about the weather. Searchers stumbled upon people using Claude for deep legal strategy, code troubleshooting, and private personal matters. This highlights a major risk of leaning too heavily on artificial intelligence platforms for daily work without checking the privacy settings.
Luckily, the company acted fast to clean up the mess. The exposed chat logs are now completely gone from the search index. If you want to be totally safe, you can always go into your settings menu and check the shared chats section to remove old links you no longer need active. It serves as a good reminder to keep a close eye on the tools you use every day.
