While both of these devices will look almost identical to the models currently sold in stores, the real changes are happening on the inside. The new versions will feature much faster processing chips to properly handle new Siri voice commands and features. The extra power is needed to process the heavy demands of modern AI without slowing down.

A brand new home display recognizes faces to customize widgets

The most interesting product in the lineup is an entirely new smart home hub expected to launch sometime between October and early next year. This device will feature a seven-inch square screen and run on a totally new operating system based on tvOS. The software will blend familiar apps and watch faces to create a simple control center for your house.

The standout feature of this new hub is its built-in facial recognition. The screen can actually see who is standing in front of it and automatically adjust the display to show that specific person their own calendar and private notes.

The hardware team is reportedly testing two different designs for this upcoming display. One version sits on a tabletop with a half dome base, while the other sticks directly to a wall using a magnetic system. By expanding its lineup, the tech giant hopes to finally secure a central spot in your daily home routine.
