Meta recently introduced its first live audio perception model named Muse Voice Transcribe. This update brings streaming multilingual transcription directly to the desktop. It works directly with Meta AI for Mac computers to power system-wide dictation. Users only need to hold down the Fn key to start speaking text into any application. It also integrates with Muse Code and opens up options for developers using the Meta Model API.
The model uses adaptive delay to transcribe live speech accurately
Muse Voice Transcribe combines automatic speech recognition with the ability to identify who is talking. It can separate over twenty different speakers in a single recording while figuring out when a person finishes speaking. It handles all this processing instantly, removing the need for a separate step to clean up the audio later.
The system relies on a feature called adaptive delay. Instead of sticking to a fixed speed, it decides how long to listen before writing each word down. It moves fast through easy phrases but waits to gather more context when it hears difficult words. This balance helps it stay accurate during long conversations.

The model was trained on more than seventy languages and fully supports twenty-five of them right now. It can easily handle audio files that are longer than an hour. The tool also switches between languages naturally, even if a speaker changes languages in the middle of a sentence.
This model currently ranks first on the Artificial Analysis leaderboard for streaming speech-to-text tools. Developers can use it for three dollars per thousand audio minutes, which breaks down to eighteen cents per hour. This competitive pricing makes it an appealing option for those building apps within the Apple software environment.
Voice dictation has been a standard feature on computers for years, but live translation and smart processing bring a new level of use. By combining speed with high accuracy, Muse Voice Transcribe gives people a clear way to interact with their devices through speech. It will be interesting to see how developers adopt this tool and what new voice capabilities will emerge moving forward.
