We are just days away from the highly anticipated fall product reveal, and a massive leak gives us a detailed look at the brain powering the upcoming flagship devices. The Apple A20 Pro chip is the main subject of recent online chatter, thanks to a new die shot analysis shared by a popular tech tipster. The leaked details point to a massive graphics upgrade and better memory for the top-tier iPhone 18 Pro series.
The new processor features a larger graphics cluster and smarter cache
Tipster Abhishek Yadav shared the detailed die shot on X, revealing that the upcoming processor features a seven-core GPU. This is a step up from the six graphics cores found in the previous generation, making it the largest graphics cluster the brand has ever put inside a smartphone. The main CPU layout stays at six total cores, splitting the workload between two performance cores and four efficiency cores.
Memory gets a nice bump as well. The efficiency cores will now share 8MB of L2 cache, which is an increase from the 6MB offered last year. The performance cores keep their 16MB L2 cache. Experts note that the A20 Pro will be built on the new 2-nanometer node from TSMC, which allows the company to pack in more power while keeping battery drain low.
