The synopsis may point to a different Jason
Jason1 is the clearest emotional possibility because Daniela leaves at the end of Episode 4 and Charlie has started college. Yet the wording says a Jason who “lost” his family, which may describe a past already completed rather than the current separation. Daniela also makes clear that she has not ended the marriage.
Jason2 fits for different reasons. He abandoned his original chance with Daniela, stole Jason1’s home and then lost that borrowed family. His apology to Amanda and promise to do good create a natural opening for an episode about whether he understands love after treating people as outcomes to acquire.
What Episode 4 leaves unresolved
Episode 4 also leaves Amanda and Ryan detained under quarantine, with Jason2 nearby and able to travel. If Episode 5 follows him, their arrest could force his first meaningful act of restitution. A new Jason could instead widen the story and show another cost of the branching created in Season 1.
