A hardware store worker tries to create spirits using alchemy
The plot follows Michael Sleep, an eccentric guy who works at a local DIY shop. He has been stuck in a rut since his loved one Clea vanished seven years ago. Desperate for answers, Michael gets a bizarre recipe from his father Brian that involves rainwater, horse manure, and basic alchemy. He uses this strange mixture to try and create magical spirits capable of seeing the future. He hopes these little beings can tell him if Clea will ever return.
His younger coworker Kacey steps in to help him figure out the magic. Meanwhile, the store manager Gordon and two curious neighbors make things much more complicated. The series is filmed around Manchester and brings a quiet, charming vibe to the screen.
