Apple TV has shared the first look at “The Wanted Man,” its upcoming crime drama starring and executive produced by Hugh Laurie. The new images put the “House” and “The Night Manager” star at the center of a story about a powerful British crime boss whose empire starts falling apart after a betrayal lands him in prison.
“The Wanted Man” comes from creator, writer and showrunner George Kay, known for “Hijack” and “Lupin.” The series also brings together Thandiwe Newton, Fionn Whitehead, Gina McKee, Hazel Doupe, Elliott Heffernan and Stephen Dillane.
“The Wanted Man” has eight episodes and will premiere globally on Apple TV on Wednesday, January 6, 2027. Apple will release the first two episodes together, followed by one new episode every Wednesday. The season finale is scheduled for February 17, 2027.

Plot
“The Wanted Man” follows Felix Carmichael, played by Hugh Laurie, the powerful leader of a notorious British crime syndicate known as The Capital. Felix has remained largely untouchable for 20 years, but his position collapses when he is arrested and sent to Staplehurst prison.
While behind bars, Felix realizes that someone inside his own organization has betrayed him. The traitor begins tearing apart the criminal empire he spent decades building, while Felix faces a dangerous struggle for survival inside prison.
With his family, fortune and organization under threat, Felix decides that escaping prison is his only way forward. His planned escape appears set to drive much of the series, with Felix trying to identify the person who betrayed him and regain control of what remains of his empire.
The first-look images also place Laurie alongside the wider cast, although Apple has not yet revealed character details for most of the supporting actors.
