Crew Girl ends its first eight episodes with a victory that is not quite a win, a romance that is not quite settled, and enough unfinished business for another season. Teagan Tao arrived at Easton Prep after an FBI raid turned her family life upside down. By the finale, she has helped a divided boys’ rowing team return to the podium.
The Netflix series makes Teagan choose her principles more clearly than it makes her choose between Cam and Josh. That distinction is important to the final scenes. It also explains why the finale can give the rowing story a firm result while leaving the personal story open.

Josh’s health adds another unresolved issue. He has hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and underwent surgery after hiding the condition so he could keep rowing. His future in the boat remains uncertain even if his relationship with Teagan continues.

Does Teagan choose Cam or Josh?
Teagan and Cam kiss near the end of the season, but the show does not close the door on Josh. After heart surgery, Josh asks Teagan for another chance. They share a meaningful look that suggests their attraction is still present.
Cam then finds Teagan and the two kiss. On the surface, that puts Teagan and Cam together. The cast and showrunner Vivian Lin have nevertheless described the triangle as intentionally messy. Cam also does not know the full story of Teagan’s earlier involvement with Josh, leaving a difficult conversation for any continuation.
What happens at the Haverford Cup?
An equipment-tampering investigation threatens Teagan and Cam’s places in the boat. Teagan initially steps aside, but her teammates refuse to compete without her. Coach Hayden allows her to return, and Easton takes silver at the Haverford Cup. It is the school’s first podium finish in years.
The decision costs Hayden his job when the principal realizes both students raced. Elsewhere, Teagan’s father David turns himself in after she tells him that facing the consequences is better than staying on the run. Britney also gathers support for Easton to create a girls’ crew team, giving Teagan a possible new path.
Has Netflix renewed Crew Girl for Season 2?
No. Netflix has not announced a second season as of September 10, 2026. Comments from the cast about summer break, a larger love triangle, and a girls’ boat are ideas they would like to explore, not confirmed plans.
If the series returns, the finale leaves several clear threads: Teagan’s choice of team, Cam learning the truth about Josh, Josh’s future after surgery, and whether the boys can keep their progress without Hayden. Until Netflix makes a decision, the renewal status is not published.
