Karen moves with her family to Bergen and is welcomed into a wealthy social circle known as the dinner club. The couples spend their evenings around expensive food, wine, and an apparently effortless lifestyle. The arrangement changes when one of the large villas catches fire.
Evert dies in the fire, while his wife and children narrowly survive. Karen begins looking more closely at the people around her and discovers that their friendships depend on secrets and distrust. Her search for the truth becomes increasingly dangerous as everyone finds something to protect.

Dorien Goertzen created the adaptation and serves as head writer, with Jop Esmeijer as co-writer. Dana Nechushtan and Margien Rogaar directed the series. Fiction Valley produced it.
