Netflix is bringing live professional darts to its streaming platform this fall. The service just announced a new live special starring teenage darts sensation Luke Littler. The event gives everyday fans a rare chance to step up and play against the nineteen-year-old world number one. Anyone watching at home will get to see if regular pub players can actually defeat a historic world champion on live television.
Amateurs compete for a massive cash prize in October
The live special is officially titled Beat Luke Littler. It will broadcast directly on Netflix on Friday, October 30. During the event, twenty selected amateur players will take turns trying to beat Littler in a single leg of darts.

The stakes for this competition are incredibly high. If an amateur manages to take down the champion, they will walk away with a life-changing cash prize of 501,000 pounds. This specific prize amount is a clever nod to the standard 501-point format used in professional darts matches around the globe.
Producers are holding open qualifying heats next month
To find the twenty challengers, producers are hosting open regional qualifying rounds in London and Manchester this September. Anyone aged twelve and older can apply to play on the live Netflix broadcast. In a promotional video, Littler challenged fans who claim on social media that they have the skills to beat him to finally step up and prove it.
Littler enters this new television project riding a massive wave of success. He recently defeated Gerwyn Price to keep his Betfred World Matchplay title in Blackpool. During that tournament, the young star set a new record average score, proving he is in peak form ahead of the live broadcast challenge. This upcoming show promises to bring the pub sport to a much wider global audience.
