Eddy Cue

Cannes Lions just announced its big award for the upcoming summer festival. They are honoring Eddy Cue, the head of services at Apple, as the 2026 Entertainment Person of the Year. This award celebrates leaders who change how people experience stories and culture. Cue leads a massive team that handles the media we use every day, and his work over the last few years has completely changed how the company fits into the larger entertainment world.

The award celebrates his work building a massive streaming network

Under his watch, Apple TV grew from a brand-new idea six years ago into an industry heavyweight. The platform has released major hits like Severance, Ted Lasso, and the new comedy series The Studio. Cannes Lions noted that The Studio recently broke records as the most awarded first-year comedy show ever made. On top of that, the original sports movie F1 completely shattered global box office records.

His daily role covers far more than just producing television

While video content grabs most of the headlines, his actual job covers a much wider range of digital tools. Cue also runs Apple Music, which just hit record subscriber numbers, alongside other daily services like Apple Maps and the vast online iCloud storage system. His leadership touches nearly every digital subscription the tech giant offers.

To celebrate this award, Cue will give a keynote speech on June 22. He will share the stage with famous Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who worked closely with the tech giant on the F1 movie. This big recognition shows the tech company is now a permanent and powerful force in the modern entertainment business.
