Apple’s own sentence names five operating systems: “Siri AI is available in beta in iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27.” tvOS is not in it, and Apple TV and HomePod appear nowhere on the Apple Intelligence device list, even though both are Siri devices today. The new assistant arrives with iOS 27 on Monday, September 14 and skips the living room.
tvOS 27 exists. Its release candidate build, 24J360, went to developers on September 9 alongside the others, and Apple has published no public release date for it. The tvOS features Apple has described are a Podcasts redesign with video playback, Apple Music AutoMix on tvOS and HomePod, and Hi-Res Lossless audio through compatible external outputs on Apple TV 4K. None of them is Siri AI.

The five-OS sentence, and the platform missing from it
Apple repeats the five-operating-system line on its Apple Intelligence page and across the individual OS pages, so this is not a single stray footnote. Every platform Apple wanted to name is named, and tvOS is left out of a list that includes watchOS, where Siri AI had not even reached a developer beta when Apple first described it in June.

Apple also published its Apple Intelligence hardware list, and it stops at iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Vision Pro and Apple Watch. The Apple Watch row is the instructive one. Apple put watchOS into the Siri AI sentence even though the watch borrows Apple Intelligence from a paired iPhone, which shows Apple was willing to include a companion device. The Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 both qualify on that basis.
The home features that need a hub which cannot run them
iOS 27 adds intelligence to the Home app: activity summaries that combine related notifications, written descriptions of camera clips before you watch them, natural-language search across recordings, and support for 4K recording on compatible cameras.
Apple’s published requirements for that set are a home hub, an iCloud+ plan and an Apple Intelligence device. The eligible hubs are HomePod, HomePod mini and Apple TV 4K, which means Apple requires one of the two devices it left off the intelligence list in order to deliver features whose processing happens on an iPhone or iPad instead.
Neither device was refreshed on September 9. Apple’s Apple TV 4K page still sells the A15 Bionic model and the HomePod mini page still describes the S5 chip, while the iPhone 18 Pro shipped with the A20 Pro. Our live blog from the keynote has the full running order.
