Code in the watchOS 27.2 beta points to a new Apple Watch screenshot preview with immediate share and delete controls. The interface is hidden behind a feature flag, so it is not a feature that testers can assume will ship in the final update.
Developer pdfu shared the finding on X, describing a workflow inspired by iPhone. After a screenshot is captured, the proposed interface presents a preview instead of only flashing the screen and sending the image to the paired iPhone’s Photos library.
The extra step could solve two small annoyances. Users would be able to discard an accidental capture before it reaches Photos, or share a useful screenshot without first finding it on the iPhone. The underlying capture method is not reported to change.

Hidden code is not a release promise
Apple has not announced the interface, and its watchOS 27.2 release information does not describe it. Feature flags are commonly used to keep unfinished work disabled while development continues. Apple could enable the design in a later beta, postpone it to another release or remove it.
Apple released the first watchOS 27.2 beta to developers on September 16. MacObserver’s beta 1 overview found no watch-specific consumer feature in Apple’s release notes, while beta 2 separately restored the App Switcher with a new gesture.
That makes the screenshot preview a reported development rather than an available capability. Apple Watch owners should not install beta software solely for it, especially because Apple does not provide a normal user process for downgrading a watch to the public watchOS release.
If Apple enables the feature, the useful change is speed: capture, inspect, share or delete without moving to another device. For now, the existing screenshot behavior remains the one users should expect, and there is no confirmed switch that enables the hidden interface.
