iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max stopped being available for purchase from Apple on September 9, the day iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max were announced. Apple’s own store pages for both phones now redirect to the new models. Nowhere in Apple’s newsroom release, or anywhere else Apple publishes, does a sentence…
Rosetta Ends With macOS 27, Except When Apple Says 26 or 28
Apple has published three separate pages this month stating when Rosetta, the tool that lets Intel-only Mac apps run on Apple silicon, stops working. One says macOS 27. Another says macOS 27 too, with a narrower carve-out starting macOS 28. A third, posted eight days later, says macOS 26 was already the cutoff and that…
The S11's Secure Exclave Is a First for Apple Watch, Built for Always-On Audio
The S11 chip inside Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 includes something Apple calls a Secure Exclave, a hardware-isolated compartment built specifically to handle audio. Apple has never described a component like it on any earlier Apple Watch chip, and it exists because the new Audio Intelligence features need somewhere private to…
Cycle Tracking Adds Menopause Support for the First Time, With Rules Apple Spells Out
Cycle Tracking is adding perimenopause and menopause support for the first time, a feature Apple has never previously built into the Health app. It arrives in watchOS 27 on Monday, September 14, and Apple has attached specific rules to it: an age floor, symptom logging, and two sentences the company is careful to include about…
Split View Multitasking Reaches iPhone for the First Time, on iPhone Duo
Split View, a layout that puts two apps side by side on one screen, is coming to an iPhone for the first time. It ships on iPhone Duo, Apple’s first foldable, and Apple states it plainly on the product’s own pages: nothing in Apple’s published history of the iPhone lineup describes anything like it on…
Apple Reference Image Is a First for iPhone, and It Skips the EU and China
Apple Reference Image is a new capture mode built into the camera system on iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, and Apple has never published a feature like it for any earlier iPhone. It is opt-in, it records signed sensor data to build what Apple calls an unalterable reference image, and Apple’s own…

Apple states Apple Watch Series 12 runs up to 24 hours on normal use and Apple Watch Ultra 4 runs up to 50 hours, with several more figures for Low Power Mode and workout tracking. Neither watch gets a milliamp-hour capacity figure anywhere Apple publishes. Apple Watch Ultra 4 is rated for up to 50…
How Many mAh Are in AirPods 5? Apple Publishes Hours, Not Milliamp-Hours
Apple states that AirPods 5 run up to 4 hours with Active Noise Cancellation on, or up to 5 hours on the model with the Wireless Charging Case, and up to 20 or 22 hours total with the case topping them up. It has never published a milliamp-hour figure for either battery, in the earbuds…
iPhone 18 Pro in Australia: Why the Storage Jump Costs More Than It Does in the US
Apple’s Australian store prices iPhone 18 Pro from A$2,099 at 256GB up to A$4,499 at 2TB, more than doubling across the range. The same move in the US, from $1,199 to $2,399, exactly doubles. The recurring complaint that storage costs Australian buyers proportionally more than it costs American ones holds up once Apple’s own price…
iPhone 18 Pro costs C$1,749 in Canada, and iPhone Duo sits just under C$3,000
Apple’s Canadian store lists iPhone 18 Pro from C$1,749, iPhone Duo from C$2,999, Apple Watch Ultra 4 from C$1,099 and Apple Watch Series 12 from C$549. Every one of those four figures sits just past a round number a shopper would use to judge the price at a glance. The recurring complaint that Canadian pricing…
