The fastest charging figure Apple publishes for the iPhone 18 Pro, up to 50 percent in around 15 minutes, requires a 60W USB-C adapter that Apple sells separately and never names on the phone’s pages. The adapter that fits the description is called the 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max, and the footnote on…

iPhone 18 Pro Charging: Every Figure Apple Publishes Stops at 50 Percent
Apple publishes two charging claims for the iPhone 18 Pro, and both stop in the same place: up to 50 percent in around 15 minutes with a 60W USB-C adapter, and up to 50 percent in 30 minutes with a 35W adapter plus MagSafe. There is no published figure for 80 percent and none for…
iPhone 18 Pro Zoom: Apple's 2x Out Is Optical, Its 8x In Is Optical-Quality
Apple’s own summary of the iPhone 18 Pro camera contains two different zoom phrases in a single line: 2x optical zoom out, and 8x optical-quality zoom in. The extra word going in is not decoration, and it marks the exact point where a lens stops being involved. The 48MP Fusion main camera at 24 mm,…
iPhone 18 Pro Trade-In Outside the US: One Number in the UK, One in India, Silence in Seven Markets
Apple has published exactly three trade-in figures for this launch, and only one of them is a range. It is $175 to $885 in the US for an iPhone 13 or later, a single £455 in the UK for an iPhone 16 Pro or later, and up to ₹62,000 in India for an eligible smartphone…

Apple Raised Mac and iPad Trade-In Values on September 9 and Cut Every iPhone
Apple reset its trade-in values on September 9, the day it announced iPhone 18 Pro, and it moved them in opposite directions by category. Every iPhone payout fell, some by as much as $120. Every Mac except the Mac Pro went up, and so did every iPad. iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, priced from…
iPhone 18 Pro Max Carbon Footprint: 69 kg at 256GB, 114 kg at 2TB, and Only in a PDF
Apple puts the iPhone 18 Pro Max at 69 kg of CO2e at 256GB, rising to 114 kg at 2TB, and the iPhone 18 Pro at 63 kg rising to 109 kg. Those numbers exist in exactly one place: the Product Environmental Report PDF Apple published for both phones. Storage, not color or size, is…
Accessibility Reader in iOS 27: Summaries and Translation for Dense Text, and the Five Details Apple Left Out
Apple’s iOS 27 page lists Accessibility Reader as one of five accessibility features arriving on Monday, September 14, and describes it in a single line: summaries and translation on complex material. That line is the whole of what Apple has published about it. iOS 27 ships on the iPhone 18 Pro and on every iPhone…
iPhone Handoff Launches With Two Carriers Worldwide: Every Carrier Rule in Apple's Footnotes
Footnote 9 of Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro press release is one sentence long and it decides who gets one of iOS 27’s new features. Verbatim: “iPhone Handoff will be available at launch with T-Mobile in the U.S. and Telekom Germany in Germany.” Two carriers, two countries, and no other carrier named anywhere. iPhone 18 Pro…
Apple Takes a Pixel or Galaxy Toward an iPhone 18 Pro, and Publishes No Range for Either
Apple Trade In accepts Android phones toward an iPhone 18 Pro, and Apple publishes no credit range for any of them. The only range Apple states in its own words covers iPhones: customers trading in an iPhone 13 or later “can get $175 to $885 (U.S.) in credit instantly.” Nothing equivalent exists for a Pixel,…
Apple's 10 Percent Military Discount Saves $119.90 on an iPhone 18 Pro and Blocks Both Financing Routes
Apple’s Veterans and Military Purchase Program is the one across-the-board Apple discount that applies to an iPhone, at 10 percent off, which is $119.90 on Apple’s $1,199 starting price for iPhone 18 Pro. Apple also states that Apple Card Monthly Installments “are not available as a payment type in this special storefront,” and the Apple…
iPhone Duo Carries the Same IP68 Rating as a Sealed iPhone 18 Pro: 6 Meters, 30 Minutes, One Moving Hinge
Apple rates the iPhone Duo at IP68, to a maximum depth of 6 meters for up to 30 minutes, which is the same rating and the same stated conditions as the sealed iPhone 18 Pro. A phone with a moving hinge and two display panels carries the identical published figure to a phone with neither.…
iPhone Duo Is Titanium and Aluminum: Apple Names Both Metals and Never Says Which Part Is Which
Apple calls the iPhone Duo a titanium foldable design, with a Grade 5 titanium frame and hinge cover in a mirror-polished finish. Its own environment figures for the same phone credit an 85 percent recycled titanium enclosure and, separately, a 100 percent recycled aluminum frame, and Apple never says which structural part each metal forms.…
Second-Generation Ultra Wideband Is on Five New Apple Spec Sheets: One Line, No Numbers
Every new Apple product announced on September 9 that has a radio list carries the same phrase, second-generation Ultra Wideband, and Apple publishes nothing else about it. No range, no accuracy figure, no frequency band, no power number, and no named feature on any spec sheet that says what the chip is there to do.…
Apple Upgrade Leases an iPhone 18 Pro for $34.99, and Has Not Priced the Ending
Apple Upgrade puts an iPhone 18 Pro 256GB in your hand for $34.99 a month over 24 months, or $49.99 a month over 12, and Apple’s own footnote is blunt about what that is: “This offer is for a consumer lease, not a purchase or loan.” Apple publishes the monthly figure and names three ways…
iPhone 18 Pro Pre-Orders Open in More Than 65 Countries Today, and Apple Has Named 18
iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max pre-orders open in more than 65 countries and regions at 5 a.m. PT today, and Apple names 18 of them. The rest of that list is not published anywhere we could find, which leaves a lot of readers checking a store page rather than a press release…
The Apple Intelligence Features Missing on September 14, Even on an iPhone 18 Pro
The Apple Intelligence tier your iPhone lands in is not the only thing deciding what you get on Monday. Six features Apple has announced are dated after September 14, or not dated at all, and no iPhone escapes that, including the iPhone 18 Pro that reaches stores on Friday. iOS 27 arrives Monday, September 14,…
iPhone 18 Pro Is $1,199 or $1,299 Depending on One Checkout Choice Apple Never Prices
Apple’s press release says iPhone 18 Pro “starts at $1,199 (U.S.),” while Apple’s own US store listed the 6.3-inch 256GB model, unlocked, at $1,299. Both figures are Apple’s, both describe the same phone, and the $100 between them is a carrier connectivity discount that Apple never states as a number anywhere. The four iPhone 18…

iPhone 18 Pro Genlock: Apple Lists Frame Sync on a Phone and Documents Almost Nothing Else
Three words sit in Apple’s iPhone comparison rows for iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max that most buyers will never use: Apple Log 2, ProRes RAW and Genlock. Genlock is the strangest of the three to find on a phone, because it only makes sense when there is more than one camera pointed…
iPhone 18 Pro Variable Aperture: Five Things It Does Not Change
The iPhone 18 Pro is the first iPhone with an aperture that moves, and the four stops Apple lists, f/1.48, f/1.8, f/2.8 and f/4.0, are a genuine first. What they are not is a change to the whole camera system: the mechanism sits on one lens of four, and a good deal of the phone…
There Is No A20, Only A20 Pro: Every Chip in Apple's 2026 iPhone Lineup
Apple announced one new iPhone chip this year and gave it a Pro suffix. The A20 Pro ships in three products, the iPhone 18 Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro Max and the iPhone Duo, and Apple has announced no chip called A20 without it. The A20 Pro is the only new iPhone chip Apple announced…
A20 Pro vs A19 Pro, A18 Pro and A17 Pro: The Core Counts Apple Publishes
Apple names exactly one chip when it quotes a number for the A20 Pro in the iPhone 18 Pro, and that chip is the A19 Pro from the iPhone 17 Pro generation. Against the A18 Pro in the iPhone 16 Pro, or the A17 Pro in the iPhone 15 Pro, Apple has published no performance…
iPhone 18 Pro 4K120: The Four Video Settings Apple's Spec Sheet Will Not Let You Combine
The headline video number on iPhone 18 Pro is 4K Dolby Vision at 120 frames per second, and it is real, but it does not combine with everything else Apple lists. Cinematic mode stops at 4K Dolby Vision 60 fps, spatial video stops at 1080p at 30 fps, and ProRes reaches 4K120 only with external…
