iPhone 18 Pro Carbon Figures: One Storage Step Costs More Than Moving Up to the Pro Max
Apple gives every iPhone 18 Pro configuration its own carbon figure, and read side by side they say something the price list does not: choosing more storage adds more emissions than choosing the bigger phone. A storage step adds 9 kg of CO2e on the 6.3-inch Pro, while moving to the 6.9-inch Pro Max at…
iPhone 18 Pro Thickness: 8.75 mm Against iPhone 17, iPhone Air and a Folded iPhone Duo
Both iPhone 18 Pro sizes are 8.75 mm deep, the same depth Apple published for the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. That makes the new Pro thicker than the 7.95 mm iPhone 17, well thicker than the 5.64 mm iPhone Air, and thinner than the 11.3 mm an iPhone Duo measures when it…
iPhone 18 Pro Battery vs Pro Max: 36 Hours Clears the iPhone 16 Pro Max and Falls 3 Short of the 17 Pro Max
Apple rates the 6.3-inch iPhone 18 Pro at up to 36 hours of video playback, which is three hours more than it rates the iPhone 16 Pro Max and three hours less than last year’s iPhone 17 Pro Max. The small Pro has, in other words, caught up with a big Pro, just not the…

iPhone 18 Pro Wireless Charging: 25W Is a Third-Year Ceiling, and Qi2 Only Caught Up Last Year
The iPhone 18 Pro charges at up to 25W on MagSafe and up to 25W on Qi2, which is exactly what Apple published for the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro before it. The wireless ceiling on a Pro iPhone has not moved for three generations. Both iPhone 18 Pro models share the…
iPhone 18 Pro Storage History: The 128GB Pro Is Gone and the Ceiling Has Doubled to 2TB
The iPhone 18 Pro is sold in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB, and there is no smaller option. Four Pro generations in a row, from the iPhone 13 Pro to the iPhone 16 Pro, started at 128GB, and only one iPhone before this year had a 2TB tier at all. Both iPhone 18 Pro sizes…
iPhone 18 Pro Ultra Wide: f/2.2 for a Fifth Straight Year, and the f/1.8 Apple Never Brought Back
Apple’s tech specs page lists the iPhone 18 Pro Ultra Wide as a 48MP Fusion camera at 13 mm and f/2.2 with a 120-degree field of view. That f/2.2 has been the Pro Ultra Wide figure every year since the iPhone 14 Pro in 2022, and the brightest Ultra Wide Apple has ever published for…

It carries 24 grams more than the 187 gram iPhone 15 Pro, the model that introduced the titanium frame in 2023. All four iPhone…

iPhone 18 Pro ProMotion and Always-On: Two Phrases on Apple's Spec Sheet, and No Refresh Floor
Apple describes the iPhone 18 Pro display in two phrases that do a lot of work: ProMotion with a refresh rate up to 120Hz, and an Always-On display. Both appear on the 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch sizes, and neither comes with a lower limit, a power figure or a minimum brightness. Apple's manual camera controls on…
