Japan is one of the 12 places where the iPhone 18 Pro ships eSIM-only, with no SIM tray, per Apple’s press release. Apple’s Japanese Store page lists all four storage tiers for both phones in Black, Silver, Glacier and Burgundy. For the US pricing and why it went up $100, see our iPhone 18 Pro price explainer.

Here are all eight configurations in yen as Apple lists them. The Japanese page mentions a Paidy instalment plan but gives no monthly figure per model.

Pro Max premium„20,000„20,000„20,000„20,000

The steps between tiers are the same on both phones and grow in a straight line. From 256GB to 512GB is 35,000 yen (219,800 to 254,800 yen on the Pro). From 512GB to 1TB is 70,000 yen (254,800 to 324,800 yen). From 1TB to 2TB is 105,000 yen (324,800 to 429,800 yen).

Those three steps add up to 210,000 yen, so the 2TB iPhone 18 Pro costs 219,800 yen plus 210,000 yen, or 429,800 yen, just under double the base price. The Pro Max ladder is identical: 239,800 yen plus 35,000, plus 70,000, plus 105,000 equals 449,800 yen.

The 20,000 yen Pro Max premium

The Pro Max costs exactly 20,000 yen more than the Pro at every capacity. 239,800 minus 219,800 is 20,000 yen at 256GB, and 449,800 minus 429,800 is 20,000 yen at 2TB. That is well under the 35,000 yen step from 256GB to 512GB, so moving up to the bigger phone is cheaper than moving up a storage tier.

For the 20,000 yen you get the 6.9-inch display in place of 6.3 inches, and Apple’s longer battery ratings: up to 45 hours of video playback and 30 hours of typical use on the Pro Max, against 36 hours and 24 hours on the Pro, per Apple’s tech specs. The A20 Pro chip, cameras and colors are the same. Our iPhone 18 Pro vs Pro Max guide covers the trade-offs.

What Apple has not published for Japan

Apple’s Japanese Store page gives no per-model monthly instalment figure, no trade-in values by model and no AppleCare+ price for the iPhone 18 Pro. Those details usually appear once ordering opens.

If you want more than 256GB, the 35,000 yen step to 512GB is the cheapest upgrade; the 2TB tier exists for ProRes video at 4K 120 fps. Our guide to everything in the iPhone 18 Pro covers the specs each tier shares, and the event recap rounds up the rest of Apple’s September 9 announcements.
