Siri AI has a three-stage public history: announced at WWDC on June 8, 2026, opened to everyone in a public beta the following month, and shipping with iOS 27 on Monday, September 14, still labelled a beta. Five more languages follow in October.
Apple has been unusually precise about some of those dates and vague about others, so the timeline below separates what Apple has published from what it has only implied. Every date here comes from an Apple press release, an Apple product page or Apple’s developer releases list.

June 8: announced and in developers’ hands the same day
Apple introduced Siri AI at WWDC26 alongside iOS 27, and its June press release quotes Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering: “We’re excited to introduce Siri AI, a dramatically more capable and conversational assistant designed to help users find information and get things done throughout the day.”

The feature set was complete on day one rather than trickled out: personal context across Messages, Mail and Photos, onscreen awareness, web knowledge, systemwide in-app actions, the dedicated Siri app with iCloud-synced history, Visual Intelligence with a Siri mode in Camera, and Write with Siri. Developer betas of all six operating systems shipped the same day, though Siri AI itself was only testable on iOS, iPadOS, macOS and visionOS.
July: a public beta on a date Apple never published
Apple’s June availability paragraph says “a public beta will be available through the Apple Beta Software Program next month at beta.apple.com.” That is the only scheduling detail Apple gave, which puts the public beta in July 2026 without a day attached. Apple has not published the exact release date for the public beta on any page, and it did not revisit it in September.
September 9 and 14: release candidates, then the free update
Release candidates for every OS in the family appeared on September 9, the day of the Surprise and shine event. The build numbers on Apple’s developer releases list are the clearest sign that all six were finished together.

Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro press release then set the public date: “iOS 27 will be available as a free software update on Monday, September 14.” The iPadOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, visionOS 27 and watchOS 27 product pages all carry the same “available starting 9.14” line. tvOS 27 got a release candidate on September 9 but no date on any Apple page, so treat its September 14 arrival as expected rather than confirmed. Siri AI is not on Apple’s tvOS list at all: the beta covers iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27 and visionOS 27.

October: five languages, and ten still unanswered
Apple’s September wording is that Siri AI ships “for users with a supported device set to English, with support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish coming in October.” Apple has not named a day in October. Apple Intelligence as a whole supports 16 languages, which leaves ten that Siri AI has no announced date for, including German, Italian, Dutch, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Turkish, Vietnamese and both Chinese variants.
What Apple has not said
- The exact day the public beta opened in July, or how many people took part.
- When Siri AI drops the beta label, on any platform.
- A day in October for the five additional languages, or any date for the remaining ten Apple Intelligence languages.
- A time of day for the September 14 releases, or a confirmed tvOS 27 date.
- Any date for Siri AI on iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch in the EU, or for Apple Intelligence in China.
The next date that matters is Monday, September 14, when iOS 27 arrives free for iPhone 11 and later and Siri AI opens in beta on Apple Intelligence models such as the iPhone 18 Pro. After that, the only scheduled step Apple has committed to is the October language expansion.
