New leaks are giving us a closer look at what colors might be available for the upcoming high-end Apple smartphones. A recent image surfaced online showing differently colored SIM card trays, hinting at only three main choices for the flagship models. The image suggests a noticeable departure from previous lineups, as a traditional black color seems to be missing entirely from the upcoming selection of devices.

Leaked SIM trays reveal three device shades and exclude black

A well-known leaker named Sonny Dickson recently shared a photo displaying SIM card trays in three specific finishes. He claims these parts belong to the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and represent the final color options. The shared image reveals trays in Silver, Dark Cherry, and Sky Blue. Dickson notes these are the only colors he has seen in recent months.

It is interesting to point out that Apple has moved away from using physical SIM card trays in several regions. Buyers in the United States and Canada typically get devices that rely entirely on digital eSIM technology. However, phones sold in Europe, Australia, and China still feature a physical SIM slot. This explains why physical trays are still surfacing online before a major product launch.

Previous rumors offered mixed details regarding the final color lineup

Earlier in the year, different sources painted a conflicting picture of what to expect for the new high-end phones. A Chinese leaker claimed months ago that the lineup would not include black. However, some earlier dummy models did show a dark gray or black variant. This matches a similar move the company made with the iPhone 17 Pro generation, where it dropped a true black option in favor of other dark shades. Some recent reports even pointed to a black option while leaving out silver entirely.

The tech giant will clear up all the confusion very soon. It plans to reveal the final details during its special event scheduled for September this year. Fans and buyers are eagerly waiting to see the official colors when the new hardware finally takes the stage next week.
