The ending sends Ted and Roy in opposite emotional directions. Ted receives a message he understands, but Roy’s message reaches Keeley without the context she needs, leaving Episode 7 with two relationships poised for difficult conversations.
What Michelle’s Believe sign means
Apple’s official synopsis says the team celebrates New Year’s Eve while Rebecca, Roy and Keeley spend the night with an old friend. Published recaps report that Ted chooses a quiet evening with Michelle and Henry instead of joining the Lady Greyhounds at a large party.
The evening gives Ted and Michelle space to discuss their divorce and where their lives are heading. The important final gesture is Michelle making Ted another Believe sign. It is not a declaration that their marriage is automatically repaired. It works better as recognition of what Ted needs when he feels uncertain.
The sign began as a message Ted offered other people. Michelle returning it to him reverses that relationship. Ted is now the person being reminded to have faith in an unfinished future. Whether that future includes romance, family reconciliation or simply a clearer sense of purpose is not confirmed.
Why Keeley misunderstands Roy
Published recaps report that Jamie Tartt returns for a vodka launch and Roy injures his knee while dancing. At the hospital, Roy speaks while affected by the moment and says he loves Erin. Keeley hears the declaration but leaves before understanding that Roy believes he is speaking to her.
The scene is built around incomplete information. Roy’s words point back toward Keeley, but Keeley hears them as evidence that he has feelings for someone else. The audience is given both sides, which makes the separation frustrating rather than mysterious.
It also keeps their relationship unresolved without erasing Roy’s emotional progress. He can express what he feels, but he still cannot make sure the right person receives the message. Keeley’s reaction is reasonable based on what she hears, even though her conclusion is wrong.
What Episode 6 leaves open
Apple has not confirmed whether Ted and Michelle will reunite or when Roy and Keeley will clear up the hospital exchange. The episode also leaves the Lady Greyhounds dealing with tensions around the team and its wealthy backers.
The clearest reading is that both endings are about communication. Michelle gives Ted a message he can understand immediately. Roy delivers the right message in the worst possible way. Episode 7 will have to show whether either moment leads to a lasting change.
