M5 MacBook Air drops to $1,099 at B&H: $200 off with a free 70W charger

MacBook Air with M5 in use

Apple wants $1,299 for the 13-inch MacBook Air with M5. B&H Photo is selling the same laptop for $1,099. It also throws in the faster 70W charger.

That’s $200 off. And it puts the Air back at the price Apple charged when it launched in March.

We checked the listing on October 28, 2026. B&H showed the midnight model in stock at $1,099, down from $1,319 for this bundle. It also warned that supply at this price is limited, so don’t sit on it for a week.

Apple launched this MacBook Air at $1,099, then raised it to $1,299 in June

Apple introduced the M5 MacBook Air in March at $1,099, with 512GB of storage as standard. Three months later, Apple raised the starting price to $1,299 as memory and storage costs climbed. Apple’s store still charges $1,299 today.

So you’re not getting a clearance price on an old Mac. You’re getting the current model at its original price.

B&H matches the Prime Day low and adds the 70W charger Apple charges extra for

Amazon dropped this model to $1,099 during fall Prime Day on October 6. That sale is over. B&H matches the price and includes the 70W USB-C power adapter, which Apple sells as an upgrade over the standard charger. B&H’s own list price for the bundle is $20 higher than Apple’s base price, which tells you what that upgrade costs.

What the $1,099 MacBook Air includes, from the chip to the charger

This is Apple’s entry configuration. B&H lists it as model Z1L6000S1.

  • M5 chip with a 10-core CPU and 8-core GPU
  • 16GB of unified memory and a 512GB SSD
  • 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display
  • 12MP Center Stage camera, two Thunderbolt 4 ports and MagSafe 3
  • Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6
  • Up to 18 hours of battery life, according to Apple
  • 70W USB-C power adapter, in midnight

Buy the M5 MacBook Air or spend $900 more on the new M6 MacBook Pro?

Apple’s newest laptop, the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6, starts at $1,999 and ships November 6. For that extra $900, you get a brighter Liquid Retina XDR display, a fan for long heavy workloads and up to 24 hours of battery life, by Apple’s numbers.

Most people don’t need it. If you write, browse, study, edit photos or cut the odd video, the Air does all of that silently. Pick the Pro if you export long 4K projects, compile big codebases or grade HDR footage. And if Apple announces its touchscreen MacBook Pro today, expect that one to cost more than both.

The deal covers one color and one configuration, and B&H only ships it in the US

You get the midnight 13-inch model with 16GB and 512GB at this price. Other colors and configurations cost more. AppleCare isn’t included. B&H ships within the US, so check your local retailers if you live elsewhere. Retail prices change without warning, so confirm the total in your cart before you pay.
