Netflix’s Road to Hillman tour has four September events still to come before the A Different World sequel premieres on September 24. The campus series is part of the rollout for the new show, which follows Deborah Wayne as she begins her own Hillman College experience.
The remaining stops take the promotion to Hampton, Washington and Atlanta after earlier events in Houston and Chicago. Netflix’s official tour announcement publishes the dates and host schools, but not event start times, ticketing instructions or admission rules.

- September 21: Atlanta premiere at Spelman College.
- September 22: Atlanta event during Morehouse College’s Human Rights Film Festival.
- September 24: A Different World begins streaming exclusively on Netflix.
What the tour is promoting
The new series centers on Deborah Wayne, played by Maleah Joi Moon. Netflix identifies her as the daughter of Dwayne Wayne and Whitley Gilbert, two central characters from the original show. Deborah arrives at Hillman determined to make a place for herself while navigating the expectations attached to that family history.

Netflix has also named Alijah Kai, Chibuikem Uche, Cornell Young IV, Jordan Aaron Hall and Kennedi Reece as part of the new student generation. Debbie Allen returns as an executive producer and directs the premiere episode. Why the campus stops matter
The locations put the show’s fictional college setting alongside real HBCU communities. Netflix describes the Hampton stop as an event about Hillman’s fictional roots, legacy and the next generation of students. The Washington event is the only remaining stop for which Netflix has specifically named planned participants, Allen and Reece.
Atlanta then closes the tour with two consecutive events before the streaming launch. Netflix has not said whether the programs will be livestreamed, whether other cast members will attend, or whether additional stops will be added. Anyone planning to attend should look to the host institution and Netflix’s official channels for practical updates.
For now, the announced schedule provides a straightforward path into the release: the campus events end in Atlanta, and the show follows two days later.
