Fauda has returned to Netflix with a fifth season that puts Doron Kavillio back in the field while refusing to treat him as untouched by the past. All 11 episodes became available globally on September 8, 2026.
The season begins with Doron trying to deal with post-traumatic stress. An old friend’s unsanctioned revenge mission in Marseille, France, pulls him into another deep-cover operation before he can make much progress.

What is Fauda Season 5 about?
The main story takes place two years after October 7, 2023. Doron and the other fighters are living with trauma while racing to stop a catastrophic attack on Israel. The Marseille operation places personal revenge beside the wider consequences of continued violence. The official synopsis frames the mission as a race against an attack, while the creators frame the characters as broken people rather than uncomplicated action heroes.

The Arabic word fauda means chaos. Issacharoff has said another word shaped this season: tha’r, a form of blood revenge tied to obligation. The story uses that cycle to ask what revenge changes after it has been carried out.
Co-creators Avi Issacharoff and Lior Raz have described revenge as the season’s starting point rather than its final answer. Raz, who plays Doron, says the story is interested in the mental price paid by fighters and the people around them. That focus appears immediately when viewers see Doron meeting a therapist and struggling to process what happened.
Most of the season is set in 2025. Two episodes return to October 7, 2023, placing the fictional characters inside events from that day. The creators say those chapters were approached with particular care because of the suffering involved.
Who is in the cast and creative team?
Cast: Lior Raz as Doron Kavillio, Mélanie Laurent as Anne, Hakim Djaziri as Saeed, Yaakov Zada Daniel as Eli, Doron Ben-David as Hertzel “Steve” Pinto.
Omri Givon directed the season. The writing team includes Omri Shenhar, Issacharoff, Raz, Sari Azoulay Turgeman, Givon, Yona Rozenkier, and Nir Berger. Issacharoff and Raz created and executive produced the series, with Liat Benasuly producing.
Has Fauda Season 6 been confirmed?
Netflix has not announced a sixth season. There is no official release window, episode count, or returning cast list for another chapter. Claims about the ending are also omitted here because this is a spoiler-free guide.
Netflix’s published material confirms the season’s setting, cast, themes, and episode count. It does not provide a confirmed next-season plan, so a strong ending or an open thread should not be treated as renewal evidence.
For viewers returning after a long break, Season 5 is streaming in full rather than following a weekly release schedule.
