The popular iWork apps on your devices are getting a massive upgrade today. Apple is rolling out a brand new Intelligent Assistant for Pages, Keynote, and Numbers to help you work faster and smarter. This fresh set of artificial intelligence tools is designed to help you create documents, presentations, and spreadsheets using plain text prompts. Right now, these additions are in testing for users running the newest operating system.

The updated versions of Pages, Keynote, and Numbers now include an Intelligent Assistant. It is currently available as a beta release in US English, and you will need to have iOS 27 or later installed on your device to use it. Instead of spending time clicking through menus, you can simply type what you want to do.

This integration of AI brings specific capabilities to each application. While it shares some similarities with the recent Siri AI updates, this assistant is built directly into your workspace. In all three apps, you can ask for guidance on where to begin, discover how to use advanced features, or simply search the web for up-to-date information to include in your files.

Here is what the assistant can do in each specific app:

  • Pages: You can start a first draft, edit your writing, and organize the layout using natural language. The assistant can adjust the tone of a specific section or generate new images and shapes to fit your document.
  • Keynote: You can quickly generate entire slides, write out presenter notes, and create custom images or shapes. This helps you build visual presentations without needing to design everything from scratch.
  • Numbers: You can generate tables, get suggestions for useful charts, and even get help writing complex formulas.

These features make it much easier for anyone to put together good-looking documents and presentations. You no longer need to memorize where every button is located or how a formula works. As the software continues to evolve, typing simple commands could become the standard way people interact with their favorite productivity apps.
