Apple on October 13 announced Apple HomeView, a $299 smart home display with a 7-inch Liquid Retina screen, an A18 chip and Siri AI, Apple’s entirely new version of Siri. Pre-orders opened the same day in the U.S., the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and India, and Apple says both the tabletop and wall-mounted models arrive on Friday, November 13.

HomeView puts music, FaceTime, a photo frame and a smart home dashboard on one shared screen, and uses face recognition to give each person their own Home Screen.
“Apple HomeView is designed to be shared by everyone in the home yet feel completely personal to each user,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

There are two HomeView models at the same price. The tabletop HomeView pairs the display with a domed speaker base through a stainless steel hinge that tilts for viewing on tables of any height. It comes in silver, starlight, rose pink and space gray, each with a color-matched USB-C cable.
Apple HomeView (Wall Mounted) is a separate model in space gray and silver with the same 7-inch display and feature set. It attaches with one of three purpose-built mounts from Schneider Home, which are priced separately and support self-installation or professional installation.

Siri AI, with or without an iPhone
Apple says anyone in the house can ask Siri AI about virtually any topic, hold natural conversations and get better music discovery, even without an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad.
Pair one and Siri AI draws on personal context from Messages, Calendar and Apple Music playlists and takes action across apps. Conversations continue in the Siri app on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch or Apple Vision Pro.
The fine print:
- Siri AI is available in beta in HomeView software version 27.2.
- Personal context requests need a paired Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad on the latest software with Siri AI turned on.
- Server-side features have daily usage limits, and Apple says expanded access “will be available for a fee in the future.”
- Expressive customizable Siri voices require iPhone Duo, iPhone 18 Pro models, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro models, or iPad models with the M4 chip or later with a minimum of 12GB of unified memory.
Siri AI on HomeView works in English in the U.S., Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the UK. Canadian French support will follow in a free software update.
Personal content from Messages and Calendar only appears when the enrolled user is recognized by face and their paired iPhone or iPad is present and recently unlocked.
Music, FaceTime and faces
HomeView plays Apple Music with animated album art and lyrics, plus Apple Podcasts, Apple TV and compatible third-party audio and video apps. Apple News on HomeView is limited to Australia, Canada, the UK and the U.S., and some apps need a paired iPhone nearby.
Handoff moves a song from iPhone to HomeView, and it joins HomePod, HomePod mini and AirPlay speakers for multiroom audio. FaceTime uses Center Stage to keep people framed, and Intercom reaches HomePod speakers, iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.
Faces include Photos, which turns shared albums into a photo frame, Flow and Snoopy. HomeView also handles recipes with hands-free timers, Find My and Live Activities.
Home control, cameras and the front door
HomeView controls lights, thermostats, locks, blinds and cameras by touch or by voice with Siri AI. The Home Modular face shows favorite accessories, while the Home Camera face streams up to nine feeds.
With a supported iCloud+ subscription and compatible cameras, HomeView delivers end-to-end encrypted recognition of people, familiar faces, pets, packages and vehicles, and alerts the household when someone arrives at the front door. Video summaries and natural language search for HomeKit Secure Video require setup with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad and an eligible iCloud+ plan, and the number of supported cameras depends on that plan.
It works with Matter accessories and acts as a home hub for Apple Home Collection, which arrives starting in December. When someone rings the LG Video Doorbell Wired, which starts at $249.95 (U.S.), its chime plays through HomeView. HomeView also detects the sound of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
Availability, and why the EU is left out
Customers in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, the UK and the U.S. have been able to pre-order from apple.com/store and the Apple Store app since October 13. Singapore pre-orders open Thursday, October 15, at 9 a.m. SGT. South Africa gets both models through Apple Authorized Resellers. All of these countries get HomeView from Friday, November 13.
HomeView is not for sale in the European Union because Siri AI is currently unavailable in iOS there. Apple says it “is working constructively with the EU in an attempt to find a path forward.”
Setup and multiuser support require a compatible iPhone or iPad running the latest software. Full details are in Apple’s HomeView press release.
