Apple TV Users Can Now Download tvOS 26.5, Here’s What’s Included

tvOS 26.5 Beta 1 Now Available for Developers

Apple has released tvOS 26.5 for Apple TV users, alongside new software updates for HomePod and other Apple platforms. Unlike some earlier tvOS releases that added visible interface upgrades and new Apple Music features, this update mainly focuses on performance improvements, bug fixes, and overall system stability.

The update is now rolling out to supported Apple TV models globally. While there are no major user-facing additions in tvOS 26.5, Apple appears to be polishing the overall experience ahead of its next big software cycle later this year. Several reports during the beta phase also suggested that no major new features were discovered in testing.

All the changes in tvOS 26.5

Apple’s official release notes for tvOS 26.5 only mention “performance and stability improvements,” which usually means the company has fixed background bugs, improved responsiveness, and optimized system reliability. Reports from the beta testing period also indicate that Apple did not introduce any major new interface changes, apps, or features in this release.

Instead, the focus appears to be on refining the existing tvOS 26 experience, which already introduced the Liquid Glass design, improved Apple Music Sing features, FaceTime enhancements, and better profile management earlier in the cycle.
