Apple has announced Apple Watch Series 12 with a press release, a product page and a tech specs page. As of today, it has not published a numbered support document or user manual for the watch, the kind of document Apple eventually assigns to every product it sells.
Series 12 reaches stores Friday, September 18, 2026. Six days out, the marketing pages are complete. The manual is not there.

What Apple has published about Series 12
Apple Watch Series 12 has a full marketing story: the S11 chip, a rebuilt Health Sensing System, a 24-hour battery figure, and pricing from $399 for the 42mm aluminum model. Pre-orders opened September 9, and Apple’s own store pages already say “Available starting 9.18.” What normally accompanies a launch at this stage, a support-library document with its own number, has not appeared for this specific product.

The absence is not unique to the watch. Apple’s support library as a whole has not caught up to any of the six new products it introduced on September 9, including iPhone 18 Pro and Apple Watch Ultra 4. Apple has published marketing and pricing for all of them well before it has published the documentation that normally follows. That documentation gap is itself the story this week, not a defect specific to Series 12.
Why a manual matters more on this particular watch
Series 12 carries several features with published age floors and eligibility rules buried in press-release footnotes rather than a single reference document: an ECG app restricted to users 22 and older, hypertension notifications with their own exclusions, and a new ceramic case option with its own sizing. A support document is normally where a buyer finds all of that gathered in one place, alongside band-fit ranges and water-resistance guidance specific to the model they bought. None of that has a dedicated home yet, so a buyer researching Series 12 today is working from a press release and a specifications page rather than the reference document Apple would normally point them to after a purchase.
What would settle it
A numbered document appearing on Apple’s support site, the same kind that already exists for the iPhone 17 and Apple Watch Ultra 3 generations, would settle this immediately. Apple typically assigns these close to a product’s ship date rather than its announcement date, so the absence today is not by itself unusual. It simply has not happened yet for Series 12. Once it does, it would also be the first Apple-sourced place to check for details this piece cannot supply, including exact band-fit measurements for the larger ceramic case and the precise wording of any age or eligibility restriction Apple attaches to a specific health feature.
What Apple has not said
Apple has not published a support document number for Apple Watch Series 12, a printed or digital manual, or a date by which either will appear. It has not said whether documentation will land alongside watchOS 27 on Monday, September 14, or alongside the watch’s own store availability on September 18.
Both dates are five and six days away as of this writing. Check Apple’s support site again after Monday, September 14, when watchOS 27 arrives, and again after Friday, September 18, when the watch itself reaches stores. One of those two dates is the more likely point for a support document to appear.
