Foxconn just bought multiple properties in Santa Clara to increase its manufacturing capacity for artificial intelligence hardware and server components. The major electronics maker picked up two empty buildings in the California tech hub, spending tens of millions of dollars to secure the locations. This land purchase gives the company more physical space to grow its regional factory operations near several important technology partners.

Foxconn buys empty buildings through its American subsidiary for factory space

According to newly published property filings, the manufacturing giant paid $54.6 million for two neighboring locations on Stender Way. The sites cover a combined 110,100 square feet of space. The company officially lists both properties as factory space, though it remains unclear if they will repurpose the existing research structures or demolish them to build from the ground up.

The purchase was made through Q Edge Corporation, a subsidiary completely owned by Foxconn. This real estate deal follows a recent $188 million investment given to the subsidiary specifically to ramp up the production of AI hardware and server racks. Setting up new factory lines in Santa Clara places Foxconn in the same neighborhood as Nvidia, a key player in the artificial intelligence sector.

Santa Clara continues to attract large investments from major tech firms looking for office and industrial locations. Even Apple has already spent over a billion dollars on real estate in the area, which sits just six miles away from its main campus. By securing these new buildings, Foxconn places itself in a strong position to meet the growing hardware demands of its local technology clients.
