Release dates and purchase limits

Every store in the table except Mexico lists HomePod mini 2 for October 30. The Mexican page shows the price but tells buyers to “consulta la disponibilidad más adelante,” or check back later for availability.

Four stores cap how many you can buy:

  • China mainland: a limit of 6 HomePod mini 2 per customer
  • Hong Kong: a limit of 6 HomePod mini 2 per customer
  • Singapore: a limit of 6 HomePod mini 2 per customer
  • Taiwan: a limit of 6 HomePod mini 2 per customer

That matters if you plan a full home setup. Apple TV 4K (4th generation) supports four-speaker surround sound with four HomePod mini 2 or HomePod (2nd generation) speakers, so six speakers covers a surround setup plus two more rooms.

Monthly payment options

Several stores show instalment pricing next to the full price:

  • India: EMI from ₹1,715 a month
  • China mainland: 24 payments at 0 percent, about RMB 46 a month
  • Taiwan: from NT$399 a month at 0 percent interest
  • Mexico: up to 6 interest-free months, or MX$166.61 a month over 18 months

What you get in the box

Every page lists the same contents: HomePod mini 2, a 20W USB-C Power Adapter and documentation. HomePod mini 2 is compatible with HomePod software 27.2, according to Apple.

Several stores also bundle a music trial. The U.S. page offers new subscribers 3 months of Apple Music free, then $11.99 a month. The German page offers the same 3 months, then 11,99 € a month.

Siri AI depends on where you live

Siri AI is not on HomePod mini 2 at launch anywhere. Apple says it “will be available in English on HomePod mini 2 via a future software update” in the U.S., Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the UK.

That shows on the store pages. The English-language pages for the U.S., UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India, Singapore and Hong Kong promote Siri AI as “coming in a future software update.” The pages for Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Japan, China mainland, Taiwan and Mexico describe Siri as the speaker’s assistant and do not mention Siri AI.

For EU buyers, the footnote on Apple’s U.S. page spells it out: “Siri AI will not be initially available in the EU on iOS or iPadOS.”

The cheapest way into the Apple home lineup

HomePod mini 2 remains the least expensive of the new home devices in every country we checked. In the UK, it costs about half the £299 asked for HomeView or Apple TV 4K. In Australia, A$229 compares with A$449 for either.
