Every date Apple has published for iPhone Duo falls on a Friday, and each is exactly seven days from the last. Pre-orders open Friday, October 16 at 5 a.m. PT, the phone goes on sale Friday, October 23, and 28 further countries and regions follow on Friday, October 30.
That gives buyers a seven-day pre-order window, one day longer than the six days the iPhone 18 Pro gets between September 12 and September 18.

September 12 is the only Saturday in either launch. Apple opened the iPhone 18 Pro pre-order on a weekend and then returned to Fridays for every other date across both phones.

Both pre-orders use the same clock, 5 a.m. PT, so each storefront converts the same instant into its own local time rather than opening at 5 a.m. locally.
The Friday-to-Friday shape is worth noting for anyone planning around delivery, because the pre-order day, the launch day and the second wave all sit on the same weekday, which the iPhone 18 Pro calendar does not.
The accessories follow the phone rather than trailing it. Apple says the iPhone Duo Case at $79 and the Folio with kickstand at $129 can be ordered from October 16, the same day as the phone.
How the two launches line up
Counting the days makes the sequencing clear. Duo pre-orders open 34 days after the iPhone 18 Pro’s, the foldable ships 35 days after the Pro, and October 16 lands 21 days after the Pro’s second wave on September 25.
In practice that means the Pro launch is fully finished, in both waves, three weeks before the first Duo order can be placed.
Anyone deciding between the two phones therefore has a long look at the one that shipped first, including its reviews and its real-world battery behaviour, before committing money to the foldable.
The software runs on its own schedule. iOS 27 arrives Monday, September 14 as a free update, while the Duo ships with iOS 27.1, and Apple has published no release date for that version as a public update.
What is dated and what only has a year
- Dated to the minute: the October 16 pre-order at 5 a.m. PT.
- Dated to the day: October 23 and October 30, with no time attached to either.
- Dated to the year: Apple Pencil (USB-C) support, described only as later in 2026.
- Not dated at all: the iOS 27.1 public release, the 28 second-wave markets and any carrier or partner store timing.
What Apple has not said
There is no published opening time for October 23, no store-by-store detail and no shipping estimate, so nothing published says when an October 16 order is due to arrive. Apple has also published no stock or allocation information, and we do not report on stock we cannot verify.
