Netflix Rolls out a Massive Visual Redesign for Its iPhone Application

Netflix iPhone app redesign

Netflix is making some big changes to how you find movies and shows on your phone. The company officially launched a major visual overhaul for its iPhone app, bringing a completely fresh layout to your screen. This new design focuses on helping you discover things faster, completely ditching some old tabs and adding a brand new vertical video feed that feels very similar to what you might see on social media platforms.

A new vertical clips feed replaces the old navigation tab

The biggest change in this update is the brand new Clips section. The app removed the old New & Hot tab from the bottom of the screen. Instead, you will now see dedicated spots for Search and Clips.

When you tap on Clips, you get a full-screen vertical video feed. It works just like TikTok or Instagram Reels, showing you short, snappy moments from different shows and movies. The goal here is simple. Instead of reading text descriptions, you can quickly swipe through these short video previews to see if a show grabs your attention before you commit to watching a full episode.

The top navigation bar gets more options for quick sorting

The team also changed how you move around the rest of the application. The navigation menu at the very top of the screen now holds more options than before. It groups content into specific types, so you can easily jump straight to TV shows, movies, live events, or games.

This update follows a similar push Apple and other tech companies are making to simplify their mobile software. The streaming giant says it wants to take the clean, simple look it brought to smart TVs last year and apply it directly to mobile devices. Users should see these new layout changes appear on their devices starting today.
