A new device called Super Mouse just launched on Kickstarter, and it puts a 3.1-inch display right where your hand rests. Arctic Fox Technologies created this unique gadget for people who want extra control over their daily apps without buying a completely new computer. As rumors continue to swirl about Apple eventually releasing a touchscreen device, this accessory gives users a strange but very interesting alternative for both Windows and Mac desktop setups.
The gadget automatically changes its controls based on your apps
The Super Mouse functions as a productivity tool rather than just a traditional pointing device. You can configure the screen to show different shortcuts for every program you use. Arctic Fox Technologies designed its software so it recognizes what you have open on your screen and automatically switches the layout on the mouse.
When you open a video editor, the mouse displays specific editing buttons. If you switch to a web browser, those buttons instantly change to navigation shortcuts. The device also doubles as a multi-touch trackpad if you double-tap the screen. This lets you use familiar finger gestures to scroll, zoom, and swipe through pages. It even includes a swipe keyboard and handles voice-to-text dictation directly on the device, supporting over 90 languages without sending your voice data to external servers.

Backers can reserve the wired mouse before it ships next year
The project is currently gathering funds, and early supporters can secure a unit for $199. Once it hits regular retail stores, the price will increase to $249. Arctic Fox Technologies plans to begin shipping the devices in February 2027. Keep in mind that this is a wired accessory that relies on a USB-C cable for power and connection, so you will need to keep it plugged into your MacBook or Windows computer.
While adding a display to a mouse might seem unnecessary to some, it offers a clever way to replace other accessories like a macro pad. It consolidates multiple shortcut tools into one item on your desk. As with any crowdfunded project, shipping dates can change, and final delivery is never fully guaranteed.
