Qualcomm has announced a renewed agreement with Apple, extending a commercial relationship that supplies critical wireless technology for Apple devices. The announcement gives Apple continued access to Qualcomm technology while the company develops more of its own connectivity components.
Qualcomm disclosed the renewed arrangement through its official newsroom. The companies have not published every commercial term, so the agreement should not be interpreted as confirmation of a specific modem inside every future iPhone.
Qualcomm previously agreed to provide Snapdragon 5G Modem-RF systems for Apple smartphone launches in 2024, 2025 and 2026. A renewal reduces near-term supply uncertainty, even as Apple continues integrating in-house modem technology into selected products.

Modems handle an iPhone’s connection to cellular networks, while the broader radio-frequency system helps manage signals across supported bands. Changing those components is a major engineering task because performance must remain reliable across carriers, countries and network standards.
The renewed deal gives Apple flexibility. It can use Qualcomm components where they remain the best fit while expanding its own modem program at a pace that does not require an immediate change across the entire iPhone lineup.
For customers, the agreement does not create a new feature by itself. Its importance is continuity: future Apple devices can continue using proven Qualcomm connectivity technology where needed, while Apple decides how quickly to deploy its own alternatives.
