Tapbots Launches Pastebot 3 With New Smart Features

Pastebot 3

Tapbots has officially released Pastebot 3, bringing a massive upgrade to its popular clipboard management software for the Mac. Just like older versions, the app quietly records everything you copy so you can easily find and use it later. The latest update takes things a step further by introducing powerful new tools for organizing your clips and changing text on the fly.

Smart filters and custom bins organize your clips automatically

The standout feature in this update is the addition of rule-based Smart Pastebins. These smart folders automatically organize your copied items based on specific rules you set up. For example, you can create a folder that only grabs images and links copied from your browser. You can filter your saved clips by file extension, creation date, size, or text length. You can even combine multiple rules for detailed sorting and add custom notes to make searching easier later on.

The update also brings powerful text filters that you can apply right before you paste an item. These custom filters let you instantly convert text to lowercase, remove emojis, strip away smart punctuation, or translate words. You can set up keyboard shortcuts for your most used filters to speed up your workflow. The software also features a blacklist option, ensuring that sensitive information copied from specific apps, like password managers, is never recorded.

Pastebot 3 syncs seamlessly with iCloud and Universal Clipboard

All of your saved clips and custom filters sync effortlessly across your computers using iCloud. The software is fully built to support Apple’s Universal Clipboard feature. When activated, anything you copy on your iPhone will automatically save directly into Pastebot on your computer. You can also easily paste your saved clips back onto your mobile device.

To run Pastebot 3, your computer needs to be on macOS Tahoe or a newer operating system. You can grab the software directly from Tapbots for $39, which includes a full year of updates. If you prefer subscriptions, it is available on the App Store for $2.99 a month or $24.99 a year. Users looking to try out the new smart features can test the app with a 14-day free trial.
