Apple has introduced AirPods 5 alongside the iPhone 18 Pro, giving its entry-level wireless earbuds stronger active noise cancellation, redesigned internals, better audio processing, and longer overall battery life. The new AirPods start at $129, while Apple also offers a higher-end $149 version with additional controls and wireless charging.
Apple says AirPods 5 provide 50% more noise reduction compared with AirPods 4, while the redesigned internal hardware helps deliver richer and more detailed sound across a wider range of ear shapes. Both AirPods 5 models now include Active Noise Cancellation, which previously remained exclusive to the more expensive AirPods 4 configuration.

AirPods 5 price and release date
AirPods 5 start at $129, matching the starting price of AirPods 4 while adding Active Noise Cancellation as standard equipment. The upgraded version with stem-based volume controls and wireless charging costs $149.
Apple opened AirPods 5 pre-orders today, with both models scheduled to arrive in stores and begin shipping on Friday, September 18.
